- Kindergarten
Our first kindergarten class enrolled in September 2006 in response to the many requests from parents seeking an early childhood program to cater to the unique needs of very young bright and gifted children. The class has been a tremendous success under the direction of Lucia Bildstein. We have created a learning environment which recognizes a considerable range of learning levels and styles. Some of our children have been able to read from age three and are anxious to explore and expand their literary development. Some have considerable ability with math and enjoy advanced problem-solving and puzzles. The common entity possessed by these children is a clear excitement and desire to learn
- Elementary Program
While instruction in our "home classrooms" may be muti-grade, we tend to group students together with children of their own age. This fosters social peer interaction. At the same time we encourage multi-age communication through shared class activities and emphasize consideration of others. Core literacy and numeracy subjects are supplemented with rapid learning approaches and different routes to, for example, math success, inquiry in science and rural affairs.
- Middle School Program
We cater to Grade 9 (tbc) curriculum with enriched extensions to classroom learning. Outward bound ventures, including those with nights spent away from home, are incorporated into related study areas. Students are encouraged to follow their areas of expertise and deepen their skills and understanding of the material.
We offer support for students transitioning out to the next school of their choice.
